Hi, I’m Yoshiko.
I’m a native Japanese speaker, but I’m also a language learner.
When I learned English, I discovered that learning a language was about much more than grammar, vocabulary, and memorizing words.
It opened a door to a different way of thinking, communicating, and seeing the world.
I experienced the fun of understanding a new expression for the first time, the excitement of having a real conversation in another language, and the frustration of not being able to express what I wanted to say.
Those experiences changed the way I think about language learning — and the way I teach Japanese.
Learning Japanese shouldn’t feel like simply studying a subject.
It’s a way to experience Japan.
Through the language, you can discover how people communicate, how they express
emotions, how they think about relationships, food, traditions, everyday life, and so much more.
That’s what I want to share with my students.

I’m a big fan of coffee and matcha, which I enjoy making at home. I also practice calligraphy,
love visiting museums, and enjoy singing karaoke.
I enjoy discovering different cultures through food, art, books, and films. When I have a quiet
evening at home, you’ll often find me reading mystery novels or watching anime on Amazon
Prime.

Do I need to know Japanese before my first lesson?
Not at all. Complete beginners are very welcome.
Do you teach in English?
Yes. Lessons are designed for English-speaking students, and I can explain Japanese grammar
and concepts in English whenever necessary.
How long is each lesson?
Each private lesson is 25minutes, but you can also customize it to 50 minutes.
Where do lessons take place?
Lessons are held online via Zoom.
Do you teach children?
Yes. I teach students of all ages.
Can I reschedule a lesson?
You may reschedule up to 24 hours in advance. A cancellation fee of 80% applies if cancelled
within 24 hours of the appointment, and 100% for no-shows.
